Ushio & Noriko -- Micro Dwelling DesignNov 2024
The project introduces the clients, Ushio and Noriko, with the film Cutie and Boxer, and uses this to introduce the renovation of a 25-square-meter micro dwelling in an old house in Kingsford Sydney.
The final work focuses on the user's life experience, combining Australian indigenous architectural styles with traditional Japanese housing, giving Ushio and Noriko a passive house experience. This renovation focuses on comfort and experience, with the highlight being the skylight design, which ensures plenty of natural light. Traditional Japanese material Shou Sugi Ban and Australian indigenous Spotted Gum are used to create an architectural form that blends the styles of the two cultures.
